About Carl…
I’m Carl, Chartered Financial Planner and founder of RTS Financial Planning.
I started working in Financial Services back in 2006, but over the years I became increasingly disillusioned with the way Financial Planning clients were being served.
Some clients are recommended an investment product without any thought of the overall financial plan or what aftercare is required. And whilst the majority of Financial Planners do a great job and have high ethical standards, I still feel clients are being ripped off.
So, in 2017, I created RTS Financial Planning, to do things ‘differently’.
I want to change the way you experience Financial Planning. I want to help you understand the power of proper financial planning to change your life; to help you live without money worries, knowing you will always have enough.
I worked during the financial crisis of 2007-2008, which saw stock markets crash, banks go bust and companies lay-off staff. The worst thing was seeing people (some of whom were already retired) having their homes repossessed because they could no longer afford their mortgage payments.
I’ll never forget that. It’s one of the reasons I became a Financial Planner. I want to make sure my clients never lose their homes, and that they have the financial freedom to ensure they will be fine, even if they are unlucky enough to lose their job.

Karen is our Operations Director, and has been instrumental in supporting Carl to create and establish RTS Financial Planning.
With a background working for one of the country’s largest accounting firms, Karen has a Diploma in Management Services and is our ‘behind the scenes’ person who makes sure the operational side of RTS Financial Planning runs smoothly.
When she’s not keeping investment providers ‘on their toes’, maintaining the accounts, providing fantastic client service and beating Carl at marathons, you’ll find Karen chasing after their two young children!
